A Newborn Care Specialist, also known as a baby nurse or infant care specialist, is someone who is there to lend a helping hand and provide expert care for your precious newborn. Typically NCS’ are hired during the evening, anytime between 6-10pm, and stay throughout the night, working shifts that range from 8-12 hours. They will focus on establishing healthy sleep habits for your baby and attending to their needs, including feeding, changing, burping, and soothing them back to sleep. Most NCS’ require at least an 8-hour overnight shift. The rates for NCS’ services range from $30 to $50 per hour depending on the specialist you choose and your location.
